The Friday Five

Today we bring to you San Diego, California's top five dog-friendly neighborhoods! Lala recommends a few fun spots for you and your pup to visit during your furriendly stay in America's finest city.

1. North Park

Start your day with a nice stroll through North Park and grab a late breakfast at Encontro. Not only do they have great food for people, they also offer a sweet Dog Menu for pups!

2. Gaslamp

If you're not from San Diego and need a pooch-friendly hotel, Hilton San Diego Bayfront welcomes two pets up to 75 lbs. (for an additional fee of $75 per stay) Both dogs and cats are allowed - they just can't be left in the room unattended. Bandanas and waste bags are available, and there is even a pet-friendly park in front of the hotel!

3. Hillcrest

Lala is about to turn two years old, so sweets are on her mind. On her birthday wishlist is a gorgeous and delicious doggy treat from Bow Wow Dog Bakery in Hillcrest. Check out their menu for all kinds of fun surprises for your pup.

4. South Park

How about letting fido run free at a beautiful dog park for a while? Yes, you read that right: an off leash dog park for pups to enjoy. Grape Street dog park is equipped with an agility course and wooden logs. The dog area itself is surrounded by eucalyptus trees which provide plentiful shade to keep fido and his friends cool during hot, sunny days. Always remember to bring extra water for your pups when bringing them to any park!

5. Ocean Beach

No California list would be complete without a So Cal beach. Lala likes to get all wet, sandy and zoom around Dog Beach while her pawrents enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean. A must see if you are in San Diego!
